The Mystery Gift feature in Pokémon Sword and Shield is a great way to get your hands on some of the best free items in the game. It can be unlocked by talking to your mother after battling mysterious Pokémon in Slumbering Weald, and it will appear in your bag or party. Mystery gifts can be unlocked in a variety of ways, such as through free codes linked to events, ranked battles, and in-game events. You can review all the important information about the various mystery gifts you've downloaded by scrolling up and down the list.
To get a special gift, select “Get a Mystery Gift” from the menu. The first gift you can get is Gigantamax Meowth as soon as you start the game. Other mystery gifts may contain different flavors of PokeBalls, but real Pokémon have recently been added to the mix. To get these unlocks, go to Ranked Battle mode, go to Mystery Gift, and tap Receive Through the Battle Stadium.
If your Nintendo Switch goes into sleep mode while you're in any of the mystery gift menus, you'll lose your connection.
